 Problems
Some problems were
encountered with these datasets:
- mooring 1 was never found
- clock drift was
observed in the VACM data upon recovery. This is thought to be caused by
temperature-dependence of the clock circuitry. An attempt was made to correct for
this effect by applying a linear adjustment to the recorded times.
- the quantitative pressure
results are dubious - in some cases the uncorrected data show the sensors to be
well above the sea surface! Attempts were made to calculate a corrected quantitative
pressure (column 9 in the VACM data files) by using VACM measurements made at the sea
surface at the start and end of each deployment. The qualitative
trends are
expected to be accurate.
