The PRR instruments are deployed during the Hawaii Ocean Time-Series (HOT) Program cruises.  These cruises are made approximately once a month off the coast of Hawaii.   A map of the area and stations visited can be viewed at the HOT map page.

After departure from Honolulu, Oahu, the typical stations visited are:

Day Station Location Depth Station Type
1 Kahe Point   21°20.6' N, 158°16.4' W  1500 m coastal
2 Stn. ALOHA   a 6 nautical mile radius centered at:
22°45.0' N, 158°00.0' W
4800 m open ocean
3 Stn. ALOHA   a 6 nautical mile radius centered at:
22°45.0' N, 158°00.0' W
4800 m open ocean
4 Hale-ALOHA buoy (visited irregularly) 22°27.5' N, 158°11.6' W
(varies slightly with each deployment)
4830 m full ocean-depth mooring

PRR measurements are generally made at each of these stations near the time of the SeaWiFS overpass (12:00-14:00 HST).  The Hale-ALOHA buoy is only visited irregularly.
