The data processing was performed using either READ.exe (003884LE) (data from Feb 1998 - Apr 2004) or software for Profiler version 1.4.4 (data from May 2004 onwards). Both are Biospherical Instruments Inc. programs that converts the raw binary data to calibrated ASCII data using the available calibration data. Note that the measured dark values were not used to process this data; instead the calibration dark values were used. Each ASCII data file contains a header specific for SeaBASS requirements. This header contains detailed information regarding the contents of the data file. Further information regarding the data sets is contained in the README file. After the header (about 43 lines), the data is formatted in 26 or 28 tab-delimited columns, in the following order:
Each data file contains a continuous set of measurements including dark values, downcast data and upcast data. The Ed and Lu data are downwelling irradiance and upwelling radiance measurements made by the PRR600 (profiler), and the Es data are the downwelling irradiance measurements made simultaneously at the surface by the PRR610 (reference). Note that the tilt and roll values have a range of +/- 40o, and that desirable tilt and roll values are in the range +/- 5o. Calibrations of the PRR sensors
are made by Biospherical Instruments Inc. The current calibration
