HAWAIIAN MOORING DATA NOTES (99b) PIs: Mark Abbott and Ricardo Letelier (OSU) processed by: Jasmine S. Bartlett Feb 02, 2000 Mooring : HALE ALOHA - 6 Location : near Stn. Aloha, Hawaii (22o 30' N, 158o W) Period : May 29 1999 - Oct 17 1999 Instrument : OCI-200 irradiance meter SN 065 (Satlantic, Inc.) Measurements : downwelling irradiance at seven wavebands Depth of instrument : 25 m Data files : aloha99b.dat Calibration file : hale99bsd.cal Data Structure column 1 : decimal day (Hawaii Standard Time, no daylight savings corrections required) column 2 : Ed412 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 3 : Ed443 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 4 : Ed490 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 5 : Ed511 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 6 : Ed555 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 7 : Ed665 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 8 : Ed683 (uW cm-2 nm-1) Calibration File structure column 1 : center wavelength (nm) column 2 : calibration factor (uW cm-2 nm-1/count) column 3 : dark value (counts) column 4 : immersion correction WARNING!!!!! Comparison of the diurnal irradiance variation with solar time indicated that the raw timestamps in this data file were inaccurate. To correct the timestamps, 2.2 hours were added to the time of day to make the peak in irradiance match solar noon. Six days were then added to the timestamps so that the end date (indicated by anomalous irradiance values) matched the mooring retrieval date. The resulting decimal day values (in column 1) are our best estimates of the day and time of data collection. Please use these values with caution!
