HAWAIIAN MOORING DATA NOTES (98a) PIs: Mark Abbott and Ricardo Letelier (OSU) processed by: Jasmine S. Bartlett November 18, 1998 Mooring : HALE ALOHA - 4 Location : near Stn. Aloha, Hawaii (22o 30' N, 158o W) Period : April 30 1998 - Nov 6 1998 Instrument : OCI-200 irradiance meter (Satlantic, Inc.) Measurements : downwelling irradiance at seven wavebands Depth of instrument : 25 m Data files : aloha98a.dat Calibration file : hale98sd.cal Data Structure column 1 : decimal day (Hawaii Standard Time, no daylight savings corrections required) column 2 : Ed412 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 3 : Ed443 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 4 : Ed490 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 5 : Ed700 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 6 : Ed555 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 7 : Ed670 (uW cm-2 nm-1) column 8 : Ed683 (uW cm-2 nm-1) Calibration File structure column 1 : center wavelength (nm) column 2 : calibration factor (uW cm-2 nm-1/count) column 3 : dark value (counts) column 4 : immersion correction Quality Control Data were removed from the start of the data file to remove the effects of the mooring deployment and incorrect date/time stamps. No further processing was done to these data. Note that the dark values in the calibration file were taken from the measured minimum night values during the deployment. These dark values differed from those found during the pre-deployment calibration, which yielded negative irradiances when used.
