introduction

Tethered Spectral Radiometer Buoy (TSRB) measurements were made daily during a research cruise off the coast of California in October 1999.  The research cruise, MOCE 5, was part of the Marine Optical Characterization Experiment (MOCE).    During the TSRB deployments, water column profiles of inherent optical properties (R. Zaneveld's group), CTD measurements, and water sample collections (Moss Landing Marine Labs) were also made.  These measurements were made  to determine the properties of California waters and to help in the validation of satellite ocean color data from SeaWiFS (Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor).

This site presents TSRB data from this cruise.  The data may be downloaded freely for scientific research.
